Day 12: Local Game Store

First store where you bought your gaming supplies? Does it still exist?

Fandom II moved a couple of times, but was my go-to game store for over thirty years. I didn't get a chance to visit the last time I was home, but it remains a sacred pilgrimage site. It is a real game store; half was devoted to rpgs and miniatures, the other half was war games and boardgames. No comics, no t-shirts, no dolls, just rows of mismatched shelves, a counter surrounded by grown men eternally arguing over some some obscure rule variant, and a windowless back room with a couple of folding tables and the general smell of unwashed bodies, cheetos and stale Mountain Dew.

I hope its still open.

My current home base is called Monster Comic Lounge. It is primarily a comic shop, with a pretty big toy/figurine selection. Tucked away in the corner are a couple of  shelves lines with nice variety of games, and even a nice second hand selection that is a real joy to flip through.
