The Pirates of Black Water was a one season, Hanna Barbara Saturday morning cartoon from 1991. Though not a hit at the time, it has gained a small cult status for its strange, Vance inspired world of Mer.

Video Saturday: No Heroics

No Heroics is a short lived 2008 BBC series about superheros in the "real world".  The series centers around four of these 'heroes': Alex 'The Hotness' (heat), Sarah 'Electroclash' (talks to machines), Jenny 'She-Force' and Don 'Timebomb' (can see 60s into the future), mostly as they sit in a bar and talk about their day. Only six episodes, the series was fun, if a little vulgar.Timebomb is the anti-hero of the group, and has retired from his days of torturing and killing villains  Below is one of his many attempts to 'normalize' by going to a a super-hero support group.

The collective works of Gareth Marenghi, Dr. Ronald Chevalier and Time Desk Saga: The Chronicles of Dean Dangerous are my absolute favorite works of fictitious fiction.

Video Hits Saturday: Sark summons Chuthullu!

This is from an old 1991 HBO movie called 'Cast a Deadly Spell'. It stars Fred Ward (Remo Williams!) as a  gumshoe in 1948 name Phil Lovecraft who is investigating the disappearance of the Necronomicon for David Warner (Sark!). I didn't even know this existed until a few days ago. Its not spectacular, but a damned site better than some Lovecrafting dramatizations
